Very nice! I'm glad I was wrong, I just thought back to earlier this year when my close friend was trying to find it. Shew!
I traded my 5.56/223 for 2000 rounds of .30... Thanks to the classifieds here at :ingo: !

Sweet, that should get you for a good while! Lol, congrats!

Yep! Need to get some dies so I can reload for it, and it may well last me a VERY long time! :)

DD that's sweet!! It's an M2 stock as well, and the wood looks incredible.

Can't wait to hear your range report.
I'm still learning about these rifles. How can you tell it's an M2 stock? I thought I read somewhere that some were converted to the M2 configuration, but those also had the bayonet lug. I was pretty happy about the condition of the wood too. :)

The M2 stock has a small cutout on the upper left side near the breach. That's where the selector lever lives that allows for full auto fire. So, if you ever get the itch and can find a form 4 transferable parts kit (seven little parts) you can rock your now M2 full auto....last time I saw a kit for sale it was just north of $3,500.00.

Yikes... I don't think I'll ever get that itchy! :): Thanks for the explanation though. That makes sense!

I have both and I feel they are quite similar shooting rifles. I also am not fond of the plastic rifles so the m1 is a good choice for me.

When I was in Vietnam in my unit, you could have any rifle you wanted (except an ak), if you paid for it, and there was ammo available for it, and there was lots of choices floating around. I saw a few guys with Thompsons, and some had M1 carbines. I have both now and shoot both a lot plinking and punching paper, however when people are shooting back at me my choice is always going to be an AR. Just my opinion.
