What is the "hook" for? Seems too small to be a comfortable finger slot.

The one pictured is more like the AFG. The "hook" is where the pinkey finger rests. Wondering who will send a letter to the ATF to get the short version approved for AR pistol use (for those of us waiting on an SBR stamp).

Keymod version, no. I do have the picatinny version, though just haven't gotten around to mounting it yet.

Just a friendly suggestion, but try your red dot farther forward, so you can deploy your BUIS if you would need to.

I got a Taig milling machine for my birthday and machined an 80% receiver.
Added a Wilson target barrel and the rest of the parts.

It's all PSA with Magpul MOE parts. I used a BCM gunfighter charging handle, and there's going to be an XS illuminated front sight post going in but otherwise my intent is for this to stay as is for the time. Possibly a flashlight a little further down the road.
