BTW- in having a little fun with the whole neanderthal thing, I found that the references to neanderthal by the guy who went all preachy and ranty about this wasn't just him, but there is this whole weird racist thing about people of European descent being subhuman because of the neanderthal DNA. Well, to those who want to share the hate, I guess, on that basis I say, keep it coming...I find it somewhere between amusing and hilarious!

It was definitely an intentional racist slam on the woman. I predict it will result in less than the desired result when she either ignores it or laughs about it because it's so incredibly stupid.

It's amusing that the people who think racism -- or more accurately, what they perceive to be racism -- is the ultimate sin of which mankind is capable are using "neanderthal" as a racist slur as if it's going to have some kind of effect on anyone. They're trying to hurt people with their words because they choose to be hurt by words and assume their targets are just as weak and prone to being victims by choice. Projectors gotta project, I suppose.

I too am now hungry for a giraffe burger.

I understand why some liberals are upset at the way this hunter just shot this giraffe. Despite the fact that the meat was used, it seems like an unfair advantage for the hunter. To make it more sporting, she should use a coat hanger next time.

IIRC shark meat contains urea to assist in maintaining flotation since they have no air bladder so yeah it probably does suck.

Depends on the type of shark and it if was handled properly. Blackfin and Spinner sharks are very good provided they are bled immediately upon being landed, then gutted and iced down immediately. Makos are even better.

The shame of this situation is that rhino could easily be farmed for their horns as the horns can be safely removed from the rhino without harm, if the anti hunters and the corrupt officials that profit from the black market weren't so opposed to opening up legal trade. That would not only provide landowners more incentive to raise rhinos, it would also provide less incentive for poachers to risk their lives doing irreparable damage to the resource.

They did that at a Parisian zoo last year.
They came at night, shot the rhino and cut the horn with a chainsaw.
Some zoos are now cutting the horns of their rhinos to keep them from getting hunted/killed.

The asian culture runs deep with medicinals made from various parts of exotic and probably not so exotic animals. I doubt that culture can ever be rid of that method until the resource is completely depleted.
