Interesting. I was trained a couple years ago to not do that flap anymore as a lay provider. I think the logic was some trapped air is better than not a good enough seal allowing more air to enter the chest.

That is possible. I don't know if they changed it for field dressings in an emergency. If you have a hole through your chest wall, you probably have a hole in your lung also. I would be concerned more air would be accumulating.

I haven't a clue where to find/buy them, but AED patches are excellent for sucking wounds. I have about thirty of them.

The sounds remind me of an incoming RPK/RPD?
RPK 75 rd drum
RPD 100 rd belt that does not break apart so it can be reused.
Both have a slow rate of fire around the 600rpm range.
I would vote for illegal conversion not expensive to accomplish.
Sound is slightly deeper than a AK because of the longer barrels but it the echo may be causing that effect.

From what I understand if there's no political motive it's not terrorism.
Similar shootings are often just considered "mass shootings" and not terrorism, just like the 2012 Aurora shooting.

The result is the same for the victims though.

Official definitions aside, I'll bet most of the concert goers were "terrorized"!
