    So it wasn't the cleaning lady then. They have the cameras.

    I don't think this means there was necessarily another person though. Think about it: we know his car was full of tanerite. That can only mean he intended to use it as a bomb by shooting it. So he had to find a place he could park where he'd be able to shoot the car from his shooting spot. He may have driven the car to a possible location, parked it, went back to the hotel and checked if he could realistically shoot it from there.

    Who knows why he ended up not using it? Maybe he realized that it would be hard to identify the right car at night, unless he parked in a very specific place. Maybe in order to be sure of getting such a spot he would have had to park there early and leave the car there, thus increasing his chances of being discovered.

    Pure speculation of course, but I think it's a perfectly reasonable explanation for the key card mystery.

    One thing that kinda makes me iffy on the whole subject, is that everything points to the shooter. If he originally had the intent of trying to get away, why not a little more cloak and dagger? He's clearly seen in casino video, and he booked his room under his own name.

    When I was young you had to sign for ammo. Literally sign a book. I used to by 500 bricks of LR when we would back pack out for 2 or 3 days. I would get them at the K-Mart at 38th and High school. Had to show my license and sign a book.

    Yes, as a kid I remember doing this for 30-30. My dad used 30-06 and 308 but don't remember how he got it (wasn't there). I don't think milsurp was widely available then

    Eh, there’s always flowmax. If you can tolerate the side effects.

    Common Flomax side effects may include:

    • jamilism
    • dizziness, drowsiness, weakness;
    • nausea, diarrhea;
    • headache, chest pain;
    • back pain;
    • blurred vision;
    • tooth problems;
    • fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms;

    Some of those effects I just couldn't hack :)

    Comments make me wonder if a person has access to millions of dollars would not have a complex plan?

    He was a pilot I would think a plane ready to go would be in order?
    Its walking distance to the airport!

    The other plan would be a fake passport change appearance flight to county where $$ can buy an exclusive life?

    I remember taking my lawn mowing money to walmart with my mom to buy a $5 brick of 22lr, and a few $3 boxes of Winchester AA shot shells to go blast away on the weekends. That was before my dad & uncle started reloading. After a couple weeks it turned into my brother and I were doing the reloads. Dad would say..boys if you plan on shooting this weekend you better be getting some shells loaded. Funny we had to load 2-3 boxes for each of us to shoot trap and 4 boxes for him. We had to ramp up production when he was taking us to shoot sporting clays, that was 4 boxes for us boys plus 4 for him plus some extra boxes in case he decided to shoot 5 stand, wobble trap or fury...then we had to tote our guns and the range bags. Looking back I realize we were caddies. Lol

    Tend to somewhat agree. They have reported that they believe he had planned to escape. I would like to hear more about what leads them to that conclusion, and what preparations were in place for that escape.

    I will be 68. This was maybe 65. Maybe it was store specific. Been a good while ago. I do remember it though.

    IIRC the Gun Control Act of 1968 that changed the transfer and sale of handguns and rifles, but ammunition as well. Long gun ammo went to age 18 and handgun to age 21, even if it could also be used in long guns (e.g. .45 Colt). Before that just about any age could buy ammunition if the store would sell it to them.

    He'd had to have also mixed it together. Mixing 50 lbs isn't trivial and would take a while. During one of the most recent briefings the under sheriff addressed the Tannerite and his comments were fuzzy but I concluded it had not been mixed. My conclusion after that was he had some other purpose in mind later, or in executing his plan had decided for some reason not to use it. Shooting into the car parked in an innocuous location that wouldn't attract attention to ignite it from the 32nd floor would have been a well placed sniper shot. I don't believe he had that kind of skill.

    He didn't need to shoot, a remote detonator or timer could have been easily constructed.

    This is correct, we had an ammo bound book and a gun bound book back in the 70s, GCA of 68.

    Caused horrible lower back pain for me. Stopped taking it and voila, back pain gone in 48 hours.

    Daily dose Cialis also works for BPH and has other benefits...

    Now I'm seeing people on FB bringing back up the "gun owners should have insurance" argument.

    I already carry extra insurance for my collection with a special rider on my homeowner's insurance, but I'm sure they're talking about liability insurance for non-defense use of arms.

    I don't know...there may be some merit in choosing to take on extra liability insurance "just in case", but I'm not onboard with forcing people to do so because it feels good to some people.
