Families react after mom of 6-year-old boy who shot Richneck teacher indicted

A grand jury indicted the mother of the 6-year-old boy who shot his first grade teacher, Abby Zwerner, at Richneck Elementary School on Monday, according to the Newport News Commonwealth's Attorney.

Two things I learned from the news this past weekend:

If you declare that a young child "owns" a gun (google SD Gov Kristi Noam), even while recognizing that the child isn't given physical possession of a gun, people says it's "absolutely sickening".

But, if you declare that your gun was kept "secure", even while recognizing that the child did actually gain physical possession of the gun and shot someone with it, people say "I feel bad for the kid's mom"
