Between house and barn, I have 8400 sf. Not worried.
Are you saying you'll never have a problem getting to your fridge? Economically speaking I've seen data that puts the rate of investment of high quality FA like an MP5 and M16 at 13% annually. That's pretty good. Of course, you'd have to keep it in good condition.... The problem is as mentioned above what if the USG decides to sudden take it away? Always a risk. Of course that may be no less likely than USG taking your 401k....

Heh, my wife thinks it's a waste of money and not an investment. She's convinced the US will eventually ban them and confiscate all my guns without compensation before I can recoup my investment.
What makes you think New York and Connecticut will be the straw that breaks the camel's back? Post a picture here of a pistol with a forward pistol grip and see what happens. The law is the law crowd is strong.15 years ago I wouldn't have said this. But today I totally believe you will see blood in the streets before that ever happens on any type of mass nationwide scale. Just look at the criminal disobedience you're seeing today in New York with the "Safe Act", and in Conn. People are getting totally fed up with this, along with the disrespect, arrogance, and lack of common sense of the liberal socialist, secular movement in this country. You can only push people so far before they feel there is nothing more to lose. And there are literally millions of Americans that feel that way about their firearms, and those who wish to take them.

I'm not saying they are, "the straw that breaks the camels back". I'm saying this is something you wouldn't have seen 15 or 20 years ago. This is building like a wave breaking into shore. When it comes to guns, the "law is the law" crowd seems to be the communist liberals. Call it "selective obedience". They are outraged when someone disobeys a firearms law, but embrace anyone who ignores a immigration law. Gun owners are far more passionate about holding on to their firearms, than liberals are about taking them away.
INGOers have threatened to report Armslisters for posting "illegal guns". One was a pistol with a forward pistol grip. There is also a lot of grumblings about classifieds sellers "dealing without a license". And in every such case, there are several who say that in order to protect what little gun rights we have left, we have to follow the law, regardless of how unconstitutional said laws are. Don't believe you have a friend in every gun owner.
Die faster so she can recoup sooner.Heh, my wife thinks it's a waste of money and not an investment. She's convinced the US will eventually ban them and confiscate all my guns without compensation before I can recoup my investment.

Perhaps the last shortage was more regional in nature? I was in Florida until fairly recently for the majority of my adult life and never experienced a shortage prior to the current one.

I was cleaning off my reloading bench this afternoon and found so much bulk 22 that it filled a 50 cal can. I guess I'm a hoarder and a flipper for having a bunch of cans filled with 22 ammo.
I am a young guy in my mid 20's and have enough 22 to last me for well over a DECADE. If I prepared, then so could you. I'm so tired of hearing people complain about 22 ammo. The ONLY people than I have any sympathy for are people who just bought their first gun. Anyone who was a gun owner for very long has seen shortages in the past and could have speculated that they would happen again. After the 2008 shortages, I decided to buy ammo every single time that I set foot into Walmart and somehow that no makes me the bad guy.
