The only 1911 I own now. First gun I ever shot, honest truth. Colt USGI manufacture date 1914. Passed down from my father, a US Marine.

    MK IV Series 80 .380

I went in to pick up a box of .357 ammo today and walked out with a MK IV Series 80 Government Model .380. They had just taken it in on trade and didn't even have it in their inventory yet. I don't think it will replace my Sig P238 Nitron pocket piece, but it stuck to my hand when I looked at it.

My newest 1911. Purchased from Shooters Connection last Friday. Chuck is great to work with. Ran 500 rounds of 230 grain FMJ through her so far without the first hiccup. May not make me a better shooter but is sure will look good on my hip. :)

Realized a long time dream today. Got a 1915 Colt 1911. Upper has been replaced at RIA with an Ithaca slide and High Standard barrel. Must have had some serious damage to it, but it looks great now. I"m so excited to hold in my hands a pistol that's almost 100 years old, served in two world wars and who knows how many battles since then! Collectors might shudder at the thought, but i can't wait to shoot it some!

Rock Island Armory M1911-A2 picked up today at Plainfield Shooting Supply. Notice the ugly hole in the center grip. The bottom pic shows my fix. Hard to find grips for these guys. Anyone have any sources they recommend. I understand Para-Ordinance P-14s are pretty much the same.
