    Here's a couple of pics of my licensed by Colt, made in Germany by Walther, and imported by Umarex 1911A1 in .22lr. :D I picked it up at the last 1500.

    I always considered polishing (or removing the matte finish) off the sides of my Ultra Carry slide.
    Now I may just have to!

    Thanks! I just took 220 grit sandpaper and then 400 grit on a flat surface.
    The black is just acrylic paint and it has held up to hundreds of rounds and dozens of cleanings. I also carry this gun every single day.

    It's an STI Spartan, and this is by far my favorite 1911 to date. Fit and function has been great, crisp trigger, awesome with follow-up shots, and accurate to boot!

    Looked around online on different forums to find out if Rock Island made reliable 1911's, so far from what I have read is yes, but I was wanting the opinion from the guys of INGO! can you help me out, just reply or PM me with an answer thanks.

    Here are my two 1911's:

    This I built on my own about 23 years ago. It has an Essex lower, with a Colt US army upper. Everything else was picked up at gun shows. I lost count how many rounds went thru her, many thousands for sure. My favorite shooter. :rockwoot:
