It started out as a Les Baer National Match Hardball Pistol.

I had them delete the roll-markings from left side of slide, preform their Tactical Carry Package ("Dehorned" Carry Package for us old guys). I had them use the Novak cut on the rear sight instead of the Bomar cut, substitute the undercut Partridge style front post with their combat sight with Tritium. I fitted the Colt thumb safety and "wide notch" Novak rear sight after I'd received it.

I wanted a "Baer tight" *Coltesque* Government Model. ;)

I finally got to break into the 1911 crowd.. Just a bare bones RIA 1911-A1. It's plain jane, but it's mine, it's beautiful and I love it. First things first, new grips.

I recently picked this 1944 Colt with a Remington Rand slide. I've had it out once so far but am not planning on shooting it again until I re-barrel it with a new Colt stock barrel. All original parts will be saved and nothing permanent will be done to the pistol. The new barrel is just to make it a bit safer to shoot.
