This will spur more gun sales. When a house burns down, neighbors check their smoke alarms and buy extinguishers.

As was said this really brings home the need for a flashlight. What about training with one-handed shooting while holding a flashlight in your off hand? I'm guessing that is a bit harder. Do people really
Do the Hollywood crossed forearm shooting support style when using a light?

I always carry 2 flashlights on me even during the day, especially when I know that im going to a dark place (or a place that could become dark).

I train to shoot while holding my EDC might in my left hand.
Actually I train to use all my weapons while holding a light (baton, OC spray, gun etc).
Some people also carry daily a mounted light on their gun so that they can keep both hands on the gun if needed.

Of course the news won't point out that it was the MAN that committed this attrocity. They'll cover how easy it was for him to get the guns and that's what people with guns do, they go crazy and shoot up movie theaters. God forbid they mention the personal responsibility portion of it, that many lives could have been spared if someone was carrying. OOOORRRR the situation could have been avoided all together if carrying was more common.

    From the comments..
If half of that audience had conceal carry there would be a lot more innocent people alive this morning.... and one dead perp!

Probably the globalist paid the guy so Americans will be strong armed into into giving up our 2nd amendment rights.

A horrible situation that the media is not making any better for anyone.

...My question is, how did he "kick in" a fire exit door, by law and design those are "open outward" only doors..... think about it.... either this guy worked at the theater and prepped the door before leaving or he had someone on the inside open it for him...

This guy knew EXACTLy what he was doing and planned it out quite thoroughly, yet what's the first LEO quote to the press "Where did he get his AK?" (paraphrasing of course)

I agree. These emergency exit doors open out. I think they'll find it wasn't kicked in. Maybe pryed open, but not kicked in. My guess is this person was in the theater earlier that evening and rigged the door to open from the outside.

Praying for the victims and their families.

One "witness" said someone exited just before he came in.

One or two people with tactical flashlights could have at least blinded this guy long enough for some people to get out of the theater and maybe get off a few defensive shots below the body armour if they were carrying.

I don't know about hollywood but until I get enough spare funds for a weapon mounted light I use a "Back to back fist" type method.

Not sure who would have had the courage to do that.
Blinding the shooter would also have made them his first target if those people just had lights and no gun. :dunno:

Also in this situation it's not easy to shoot at the shooter if people are running in between you and your target.
The BG obviously wont care about that and will shoot at everybody, the good guy will hold is fire if he has innocents in his sight.

There is no easy answer to this type of event.

This is an all out worst of worst situations. The mass confusion and trying to find the shooter in that mess would be tough.
This is why I I tell my wife its time to leave those mass crowded events, drives me crazy. I think the crowded theater could be the worst.
