Around 1983 or so, I was working for Burger King when they switched from Coke products to Pepsi. They gave us all a paper to sign, promising we would handle any customer who ordered a Coke in the specific manner described by this letter.

It was a cornball speech that went something like "Sir/Madam, we do not have Coke but I would be very delighted to fulfill your drink request with a delicious and refreshing ice-cold Pepsi".

I told the store manager that I would not sign it, because my word was good and there was no way I was going to repeat that crap all day.

She said that I didn't have a choice in the matter. I said that I did and I quit.
