Has anyone seen a P30SK in greater Michiana area LGS?

I'm hoping to snag one if an area LGS has stock. Thanks!

      Hogue grips for 5906

There's a shop in Portage that had a large quantity of hogues on close out for $5 each, as they're getting out of guns. I am going by that way tomorrow and would have no problem stopping by and checking for you.

Best value for your dollar on an AR

I don't believe you have to have a Colt to have a good EBR. My view is to buy a good one (personally I chose Stag because of the LH option), and then pick up some ammo. When the rifle is needed, no one will be checking the roll-marks. Keep it well-lubed, shoot often, and enjoy.

      Left handed uppers

I can vouch for the quality of the Stag. I have a 1L.

Do You Prefer To Shoot Indoors Or Outdoors?

I think liability might have a bit to do with this. Personally I *do* *not* want to share a range with someone - anyone -- working on draw-and-shoot, rapid-fire, or other "techniques". Period. There are advanced classes for this, and I believe one has to sign waivers in case you shoot...

Do You Prefer To Shoot Indoors Or Outdoors?

Outdoor, by a mile. Brass is (mostly) caught on a large tarp next to the bench. I don't like breathing "indoor range" air. It's quieter outside. Shooting outdoors also gives us breaks to walk down the cold range and replace targets. And, it's free! (I shoot at a relative's)

Weapon confiscated at Gary steel plant

To what end? Are you suggesting that the proper course of action is to brandish said weapon and hold the security guards at gunpoint as you drive away? Or exchange gunfire? Over a truck and a gun? The OP's life was not threatened. ???

      SIG 229

      I like the 229 in .357SIG and .40S&W. I can't see where you'd go wrong with a 299 in 9mm.

Tired of any firearm bashing, it's just plain stupid....

Well said, Redskinsfan! BTW, I've been with my beloved Hogs since 1976 (actually I think the Hogs name came about in 1983 or so) . Still watch EVERY game I can. Years ago I used to run into a couple of the 'Skins players every now and then at church. Monk, Green, and one other guy I can't...

Who else is sick of the Glock lovefest?

Glocks just don't fit some people, or their hands. No big deal. It doesn't make one a "hater". I did recently look at a used G30 and G36. Not bad, but really not much smaller than my favorite 229 or even a 220 carry. I *do* like the slide finish on Glocks.

Is everyone getting rid of their .40's?

I still love my .40. My preference right now is .40 over .45, but .45 is a CLOSE second. I currently do not shoot .357Sig (used to out of my 229s) and I've never owned a 9mm pistol.

Three To Choose From, Which Have/Would You Pick & Why

How about a HK USP Compact? I bet the barrel is right around 3.5". Pricey, but you can't argue with quality or reliability.

springfield xd 40 pros & cons

A good choice, I think, if it fits you and your intended use. I owned an XD-40 Service for awhile but found that I preferred my P229s. The 229 in .40 (or .357Sig) is smooth. I found the XD-40 a bit snappier, although not a problem. The XD line is great. I am looking for a good used XD-45...

      Accuracy in a carry gun

A carry gun is *very* personal. I like carrying (occasionally) a Sig 229SAS. Some will prefer a subcompact auto or a snubby wheelgun. Also consider how you will carry. Pocket holster? IWB? Guys who carry all the time will tell you that the choice of holster is supremely important.

Glock 19 or Springfield xdm 9

(new here, been around other forums for awhile) I'm one of those who have looked at Glocks, M&Ps, S&Ws and XDs objectively (when looking at polymer) and chose an XD. Twice, actually. I don't dislike Glocks. I just prefer the way the XD feels. I own several SIGs and I find the ergos of the...
