What non glock pistol do you carry?

I carry anything but a Glock. I am not knocking Glocks as being inferior or bad guns. I know a lot of people love them. I just don't like the way they feel in my hands, and I think their field strip method is just plain stupid. You should never have to rack the slide and pull the trigger to...

Help, should I buy a 22 hand gun?

I think you should buy the Smith 22A. I have been shooting for 40+ years, and I am used to any and all of the "big boy" guns, but my wife was very typical in that she had never shot a gun, didn't want to shoot a gun, and was sure she would never be able to use a gun for protection. Little by...

      Tax at 1500?

I used to work the Gun Show circuit in all of Texas and Louisiana back in the 1980's. I was just a hobbyist knife maker and knife repairman, who was not set up as a business and so did not collect taxes. However, some of the gun shows in Louisiana started having the local tax office show up at...

      Guns in church.

I never thought about carrying concealed at church until 9/11. I guess I was rather naive about the world at the time. I was shaken to my boots and realized that the very things we never ever thought anyone would do, are the exact things that a terrorist can and will do, like walk into a church...

What would you do if the "knockout game" came knocking ?

Fortunately, it is unlikely that it will ever happen when you are walking with your Dad, because these animals like to attack helpless old people when they are alone. Also, they usually travel in packs. I carry myself in a way that lets anyone who looks in my eyes know that I will not be trifled...

      New INGO rules?

I don't understand why you guys are being so hard on this guy. One of you even said that this site is not for the classifieds. Well, I do all of my buying and selling on Armslist, but I have had MANY people say that I needed to come here because it has so much better classifieds and people...

      Caliber of Saturday Night Special?

I don't know the circumstances around your receiving this gun, but if it is one you are considering buying, I would suggest you pass it by and get something more modern. If you already own it, take it to a reputable gun shop for advice about make, model, ammo, etc. or go to the big Indy 1500...

So I want to learn to survive.

My advice is to join the Guards. You will get all of the training you need to survive and will get paid for it, too. Once you get through Basic Training and get trained for your MOS, you will be able to practice one weekend per month and two weeks per year. There are many benefits, and you may...

Why I carry 9mm instead of .45 ACP

While I can appreciate the humor in this thread, along with it's attending replies, I would like to go back to the original idea of the post and ask if anyone here REALLY prefers 9mm for personal protection carry over 45ACP, and if so, why? I admit that having 19+1 of 9mm in my XDM9 is...

      What are your SHTF firearms?

I love my XD45 Tactical with the 13+1 capacity and stopping power. I have 5 magazines and 1000 rounds to go with it. I also have a Mossberg 500 Tactical riot gun with a shell-holder shoulder strap attached. Packed with 00-Buck. For small game hunting I have the Ruger 10/22 Breakdown with...

      Where to Start?

I have found that it is a good idea to shop on eBay for your gear. I have bought several camelbacks, backpacks, tactical vests, survival and tactical knives, water filtration, emergency medical kits, etc. from eBay. I also bought a nice portable two-burner butane stove and several cases of...

      The under $500 game

My experience leads me to the XD9. The CZ-P07 is also a great gun, if you want DA/SA and an exposed hammer. Both great guns, very accurate and reliable.

      Ruger SR1911

The Ruger SR1911 is an excellent gun, but worth waiting around for the prices to drop. I always wanted a dressed out Harley Davidson, and refused to pay more than list price for one. Eventually, factory stock caught up with demand. I bought a 2009 Electra Glide Ultra Classic new for $2500 less...

      Full frame 9mm

I have a CZ75-P07 polymer 9mm with DA/SA and decocker and 16-round magazines. It is in a par with the XD9 and the XDM9. Even better if you want DA and an exposed hammer!

In your opinion, Best 9mm pistol

My favorite was the XD9, until I got an XDM9... 19 rounds +1 and an awesome handling gun! Very reliable!

      New here...

I am new to this site. I use Armslist a lot, but the prices of AR-15's and Mini-14's have gone through the roof, as well as ammo. Is it that way here, too? Are there any good deals to be had on any kind of guns anymore? Thanks, Cujo
