      Does practice with one gun translate to others?

      Your basic skills such as sighting in on a target and presentation will be the same, the mechanics (revolver vs semi-auto pistol) will differ as you already know. Practicing the basics will make your transition to your final gun of choice easier and certainly cheaper. Good luck!

      Colt 1911 help

      My two cents, don't use the steel wool. It leaves bits behind which in my experience start to rust. The CLP and cloth escallating to the Scotchbrite pads works for me.

      HK's are lefty friendly and SiG's can have the mag release reversed, but the trigger finger release works best here.
