None yet. One of the ROs spoke with someone at Indy Parks last week and they are still trying to decide on how they want the range run and by who when it opens back up.
Those of us that are paid RO's are "seasonal" employees with Indy Parks and have to resign at the end of each year. We have to re-apply and then we can be re-hired the next year... I believe this has to do with claiming unemployment...or preventing "seasonals" from being able to do so. We...
If you mean its difficult to seat the bullet...I found using a pair of needle nose pliers helps to bell the case mouth enough to seat the bullet to run it into the bullet seating die without it falling off or crushing the case mouth.
We still dont know when we will open back up. The positions for Range Officers or whatever its listed as with Indy Parks have been posted and all of us who have worked as ROs there before have re-applied to be hired back on... The postion of Cheif Range Officer still needs to be filled also...
We are still not open yet. No RO's have been "re-hired" by Indy Parks yet and the Cheif RO position still needs to be filled.
Once that gets straightend out and staff is re-hired the Range will open back up.
Man, as a kid I LOVED that place. My Dad would take my brother and me and it was just amazing to us. Guns, chinese throwing stars, nudie mags, super giant oversized pants...it was great!
I remember the first time I saw a pistol mounted laser...looked just like the one in the terminator...
I suppose it depends on how "handy" you are. You dont need any special tools really.
On AR15.com under the "build it yourself" section it shows step by step how to assemble a lower yourself. All you need is some punches, a hammer, a flat head screwdriver, and a wrench for the buttstock. But I...
I dont worry about it... Its never, EVER done it with 5.56 ammo and its only done it...maybe 4 or 5 times in the four years and 3000+ rounds of ammo I have put throught it.
I work at Eagle Creek range and have seen other kits do this (2 round burst) occasionally (rarely) as well.
If it did...
Yeah, every now and then that happens to me too. Maybe its because the low recoil power of the 22 round doesnt push the carrier back enough to engage the hammer on the disconnector?
I dont worry about it.
5.56 It shoots great. Iron sights were spot on from the factory (50 yard zero with 5.56). I already have 5.56 ammo/dies/brass/bullets/powder/magazines so I decided to stay with that caliber...you know, to stay "economical" ;)
Just built my second a couple weeks ago. I ordered the Stag stripped lower from Beech Grove firearms and then ordered the Stag rifle kit (the entire gun (minus stripped lower) plus a back up sight) from AR15sales.com. The kit came in about 2 weeks.
Total= ~$730.00
I've shot about 1000 Missouri 180gr hardcast lead bullets out of my stock barrel G23 with no problems. 5.1gr Unique with CCI 500 primers at 1.125" oal. Maybe a little leading, but nothing that doesnt come out with normal cleaning after every 100-150 rounds or so. I've also found that running a...
I have used a pair of needle nosed plyers to put a tiny flair on the case mouth after resizing to more easliy seat flat base bullets with my Lee .223 dies.
Just a little pressure pushing the pliers in and a twist gives just enough flair to effectivly sit the bullet in the case mouth before...
