As someone who has not spent a dime with 42769vette (yet), he has gone out of his way to answer questions and offer suggestions. He has no knowledge of what or if I will spend money with him, yet he took his time to help a noobie.
This is the reason that when I spend money on glass, there is...
My wife was scanning channels this week and stopped on it. She saw them change the wingmaster over to home defense and the price to do so. She knew I was wanting to convert one of my Mossberg's and paid attention. Afterwards she asked me how much it was going to cost me to do it. Now she...
I have the 10/22 with multiple BX25 mags and the M&P 15/22 with several stock mags also. I have noticed that neither of them like the mags completely filled. I find that if I load them at about 75%, mine run a lot smoother. I have bigger, more expensive guns, but certainly none that are more...
Thanks for the info. The kit is the main reason I was thinking about going this route.
Now comes the hard part...sneaking the build pieces through the bank account without the wife noticing!
I was thinking about a collapsible stock, a shorter barrel and a mounted light. I figure that I can come in well under what it would cost me to buy one outright and have the pleasure of knowing I did it myself.
I have a 500 that is in my "available for trade" stack that isn't the prettiest but still shoots well. Every time I look at it, I think about modifying it some for a home defense weapon and keeping it. In it's current condition my guess is the value = no more than $120 on a good day.
Any...
I believe that 95% of breakins are just crimes of opportunity where I live. I limit what I say on the internet and I choose to buy mostly used guns for the reason that I don't want them registered in a database somewhere with my personal information. I do think that I'm a bit overly paranoid...
Looks to me like it was done with a Dremel. It is in the metal down the entire side of the weapon. I'm thinking about a light sanding followed by a couple of light coats of Duracote. Right now it looks like a kindergartner tried to write their name, town and phone number.
I traded for an older Mossberg 500 AT today and the previous owner engraved his name and address on the side. Does anyone have any suggestions on if it is possible to remove the engraving and if so how? I realize that this isn't a high dollar gun and I will probably trade it in the near...
Thanks for the review. I think I've seen enough to buy one and try it for myself. The way I look at it, I have had several nights of drinking in my life that cost me more than this and had nothing but a bad headache to show for it.
Sunday evening I took my wife out to shoot a couple of new .22 rifles we picked up. Our youngest is 2 years old and he couldn't wait to go. We put his ear protection on him and let him stand in the truck with the windows down. His words were "Daddy's gun, don't touch" Eventually I'll pick up...
