If it is duty carry I would go with the longer barrel for the slight difference in velocity and the slightly better sight radius. If I were to be in a defensive position against an armed individual and could OC without issue I would want every advantage I could get.
I agree with the above posts. With the right clothing and holster even a fullsize can be concealed with jeans and a teeshirt comfortably all day. I find if I carry too far back even a short 30 minute ride in a car can be bad, but in just the right spot I can have it all day in meetings...
The police - for the most part - do their best with what they have, however in my small town the ratio of citizens to police is 580:1 as of the 2010 census... There is no way I can count on an officer driving past my house when I would need him most. That is why I choose to protect myself and...
Thank you for the information. For the calibers I am looking to reload I am not too worried about the conversion costs as I would be saving 50-70% on my target ammo without even doing the real homework on the best component prices with potentially better results than the factory ammo. I am not...
Same here -- If someone were to beat on my door in the middle of the night I will be armed, my wife will be armed and on the phone before I open the door. I will also remain in a blocking position of the door to ensure it is not an easy-in like I am welcoming the girlscouts selling cookies.
The reason is if the trigger is accidentally pressed. Quite a few accidental / negligent discharges have taken place while just holstering a gun if the proper care is not taken. I have not had this issue, but again I have not had to reholster after using a pistol in a defensive matter either...
The quickest and cheapest -for now- route may be to keep the shotgun loaded and ready with the .22 on-hand for the follow-up shot. If the intruder is on their own and the shotgun is on-target there probably will not be much need for a follow-up shot; if they have an unarmed friend then chances...
I am looking into starting to reload this summer to help feed the habit as it were. The press I am seriously looking at is the Dillon XL650. What experiences have you had with that machine, good-bad-ugly? I know some people say not to start with a progressive but I am very detail oriented and...
She could use a belly band-type holster or Smart Carry which would be even better if she is in scrubs with patient care where she may bump into a patient and printing is not the only issue. I am curious, does she work in a doctor's office or a hospital? If it is not against the regulations...
That sounds like a very effective way to teach that lesson...wonder what the paperwork was to get that through the system...Or was it more along the lines of ask forgiveness later?
