      very true...the days of almost complete Romy $99 parts kits are long gone...the fascination over old russian ak parts is the same for old M14 parts...it makes sense when you can't find a new manufacturer of quality parts...but now companies are starting to pop up that are making good quality AK...

      we used to clean weapons with air compressors in the army after prolonged range days...would soak them with industrial strength simple green, let it soak in good, then scrub them down with hot water and smaller stiff bristle brushes, use the compressor to blow out all visible water and then oil...

      very true...i suppose every rule has its exception...i definately must reccomend the beretta 84 to anyone thinking about getting a 380...mine came from Cole's, were all clean and serviceable and looked better in person than they did in the pictures...i got three and one had a broken firing pin...

      for about 20-50 more you can pick of a used in very good condition beretta 84 on gunbroker from Cole's...i picked up three a while back and was very pleased with them...13 rounds, all metal construction from a name brand maker, will certainly out last a dozen of those cheap polymer wonder 380s...

      the BBC is behind the times...the actual AK47 in 7.62x39 has not been standard issue for quite some time...the AK74 in 5.45x39 has been...and the Kremlin has been exlporing other calibers and platforms...the AK will continue to be made for a very long time though, too many other countries use it...
