If he has probable cause, he can search the car without asking you for consent. If he asks, don't consent.
You have nothing to gain by granting consent or saying anything.
1 - The second dude has big balls. He got exactly the reaction he was expecting. The reaction is 100% wrong, but he was just one twitchy finger away from being dead. Running a "will the cops shoot me?" experiment is pretty dangerous.
2 - Did they give him the gun back and send him on his way?

In the video he mentions that he was victim of a home invasion, but he's still anti-gun.
Another site gives more info on his home invasion.
While living in Manchester...
I think that's what happened in the end. The LEOs realized the guy was right, gave him as many tickets as possible, and cut their losses.
With 20/20 hindsight, I think the LEO could have handled things better (especially when I saw the pistol was in a holster). He was clearly baffled by the...
The driver started right out with a "dickish" tone, and got the same in response.
I'm sure many will disagree, but when I'm carrying, I believe I have a responsibility to behave better than that.
Everyone wants to go home at the end of the day. The "margin of error" that police have while doing their job is small enough. Doing things that make the margin of error smaller reduces the chances of everyone going home.
Too many of the shooting in the news are a result of people doing...
Thanks, Coach! Awesome class! It was a perfect blend of talking and shooting, facts, opinions, and bad jokes.
I'll definitely be on the lookout for any other classes Coach runs. It was well worth the time, money, and drive to Terre Haute.
Check the airline web site for their rules, but it's remarkably easy.
They will have him sign a little orange paper that says the guns are not loaded, and he will put the paper into the locked case. That's it.
Protecting his head was good, but when under attack, you need to "get off the X". If the thugs wanted to keep punching him, they would have. He is very lucky they got to their train stop and he didn't have to take a lot more blows.
That's probably true, but once again, "get off the X". Add...
With one scope aimed into the next scope, do you multiply the powers? I think that might be a 160,000x arrangement! With the proper ammo, we could join the fight against ISIS right from home in Indiana!
I was disappointed in myself when I came to the conclusion that I wouldn't have stepped in.
To me, the problem is that once the three thugs shift their focus from the defenseless guy to me, I don't have many options:
-talk them out of their attack, or
-draw my pistol.
Neither one probably...
Let's change the assumptions a little:
*That's you in the front seat
*You're somewhere it's legal to carry
*These guys start walloping on you
How do you react?
After watching this video, it made me think about what I would have done if I observed this happening.
I came to the conclusion that I would not have done anything. It reminded me of the "I am not a sheepdog" video.
If they had been beating me or my people, I would have come to a different...
I like to "color fill" my slides and mags with lacquer.

I also replace the slide cover plate. You can find them all over the place.
This was my first USPSA match, and I really had a good time. I particularly appreciated the help breaking down the stages before shooting, and then the quick coaching after shooting. Overall, it was exceptionally well run.
