As someone who was one of the unlucky ones to develop a cyst are a result of Gardasil, I fully understand why people would be in an uproar over making it mandatory. Plus the shots hurt SO incredibly bad (worse than my 2 epidurals I've had for herniated discs).
Thank you everyone for the suggestions on how to handle this going forward! I'll definitely look into those wipes for my bag...and maybe some kind of face wash wipes too. ...on top of never going to that place again, of course :)
My friends and I learned the hard way that having a paintball gun on a college campus is a horrible idea...and then I got an even tougher lesson when I used the emergency stairs to go down and tell the police it was mine. Multiple LEOs jumped out with their guns pointed at me and I had to walk...
Thank you all! It's just my dog and I, so I will practice all the suggestions you guys gave...and hope to god I never have to actually use them. I probably misread the person's post about hearing loss due to shooting in the car. It sounds like in self defense you'd be ok...but obviously don't...
It was indoor. The first place I went to is a brand new facility by my house in Atlanta (Indiana is my home state and I really like the INGO community so trust you all's opinion)...the second place I only went to was only because my NRA instructor was offering free lessons.
I'm guessing it was...
As I've mentioned on a few other posts, I'm brand new to guns and today was my second time shooting. I have now been to two different locations and this second time the place was pretty run down inside.
When I got home I washed my hands, changed clothes, and then blew my nose. I am sorry to be...
I reinforced my front door with one of those strike plates and laid down something in the window tracks so they could not easily be opened. However, I still worry about someone breaking a window. How common of an occurrence is that?
Genuine apologies everyone, this is pure ignorance because I am brand new to being a gun owner... I obviously know how critical hearing protection is, but does a single shot in self defense really make you have trouble for the rest of your life?
As stupid as it sounds, I almost wonder if I...
After reading Erika Smith's article in the Indy Star today, I am glad they are failing as a business. What absolute trash to endorse such hate in a paper.
I loved how she said she makes her argument of supporting what he said based on "emotion" instead of "logic"...no kidding!
I agree that I wouldn't have flashed my gun at a police officer either. This could have easily have turned into a "bad LEO encounter" story.
Btw - I'm a regular reader of Georgia Packing too since I'm a resident of Atlanta now. This forum is a million times better and more active :) Good job...
This scenario is actually one of the reasons I just got my first gun. I get approached all the time by homeless people in ATL...sometimes very aggressive ones. The police got called on the last one who harassed me. Looking forward to my GWL in the mail soon.
That's great news! I'll have to keep my eye out. I'm really interested in training as I know gas station and pizza employees will not always be there to protect me (past incidents). Hope to meet you sometime this year!
Do you have to be an Indiana resident to take these courses? If this offer came up again when I was planning to be home visiting my family in Indy, I would definitely like to sign-up. (I now live in Atlanta, GA...will have my GWL soon)
After doing a lot of research I went with the Bodyguard 380. It felt much easier to grip in my hand than the others, lifetime warranty, more safety features, slide that locks back, and a built in laser.
I have a Bodyguard too and the new ones definitely have easier laser buttons. I am a SN EARXXXX and can easily turn it off and on with one finger. As for the trigger pull, I don't know...but if you call S&W they were super helpful and could answer that.
I moved from Hamilton Co to Atlanta. My family is still there though so once I get my CCW down here I'll be bringing the BG380 back home to find a range in Indy. The first guy who was actually nice at GM told me about a place at Eagle Creek that he likes a lot.
I'm looking forward to learning...
