I wasn't overly impressed with the one I got a chance to shoot. For the price it is what it is though. If I was looking at a Moss 22 I would get the 60.
If you already have an AR it would be cheaper to pick up a conversion kit.

I would go with the 12 ga simply due to the ammo variety and the availability.
As for the shotgun. It would depend on your budget but after shooting the FN SLP I can't say enough how impressed I am with it. The other option if you budget won't allow a FN is the Moss 930. It's probably the best...
You can get more out of your budget when you build yourself. That being said I spent a little more the first time picking up some tools that I wanted to make the build easier.
It's also true that you can easily get carried away when your building a rifle yourself. Although if you are the type...
Converting it to the import configuration isn't an issue.
That's a great looking stock refinishing you did there. I prefer the SKS with the standard 10 round magazine myself. My SKS was purchased during the ban so no bayo lug for me.

Either a standard 870 or 500 would be a good start.
A light isn't a bad idea. It's a bit hard to maneuver a long gun and a flashlight at the same time.
Mag extensions are a double edge sword. Depending on how your house is built I tend to prefer a smaller overall firearm for the home.

I've only shot the PPS once and own a full size XDM.
Due to my experience with the XDm that would be the way I would suggest.

I would stick with the Kahr.
I don't have any experience with the DB but I've shot Kahrs pretty extensively. Outside of a stiff break in period, the Kahrs I've shot have been great.

Another vote for the CZ 75. It's the best bang for your buck in a steel/alloy framed pistols.
Another option would be the Baby Eagle. I have a couple and now that Kahr has purchased MRI they are bringing them back again.

S&W 5906 was the first handgun I ever shot. I was supposed to be mine but my brother ended up with it.
I was issued a M9 in the Marines and in a sense I owned it.
First handgun I bought with my own money was a XD9sc.

Good luck finding a suitable revolver for her.
I agree that for home defense a rimfire in semi auto wouldn't be my first choice. I do have a S&W 22A and Ruger MKII that feed 100% with the plastic box CCI (mini-mag, standards, etc) and the Wolf Gold ammo. As long as you use the right ammo you...
My preference for a first 1911 would be a used Colt series 70. If you find out that you don't like the 1911 platform you can pretty easily resell your used Colt and get as much as you paid for it.
If you do like the platform then the best thing you can do is send your firearm off to a gunsmith...
I like the idea of getting a shotgun next. Although a handgun purchase wouldn't be bad considering your LCP isn't the most fun at the range.
used Mossberg 500 or 870
22 rifle or pistol - Ruger 10/22 or 22/45 wouldn't be a bad choice
9/40/45 pistol - depending on which caliber you prefer. I...
My favorite revolver to shoot is my S&W 327 R8. I get one firearm a year that serves no true purpose other than being fun. The R8 fits that role perfectly.
I do enjoy shooting my 460 and a couple other 357 mag revolvers but the R8 is the most fun.

I've never heard of any ban.
It doesn't sound like there are going to be many available in the coming months. The key holing is a huge issue. Sounds like they are going to have to retro fit some of the existing PMRs out there.
It's unfortunate I was looking forward to picking one up this...
Given the options that have been tossed around. I would get the 92. The cheap price of magazines and the known reliability make it an easy choice.
If you look you should be able to get a used XD basic for around the price you are looking to spend. Might be able to find a police trade in Glock...
I carried my J frame for a couple years. I do think the pocket 9mm are easier to conceal. They are quite a bit flatter and I've found the LCP and my PF-9 are easier to pocket carry.

I've been looking at bullpups myself. I think I'm going to go the MSAR route after pricing some. I would like to get an RFB but like all Kel Tec products I can't find one to get my hands on one.
I wouldn't mind getting an FS2000 also and I'm a bit angry at myself for not pulling the trigger on...
I have a XDM40 full size. I picked it up right after they came out. I've had zero issues with it and can recommend it as a great pistol for the price.
I have a G23 3rd gen and I'm just not a fan of Glock 40 S&W pistols. Not that I've had any issues with it, but I prefer the XD line.

It really depends on where I would be camping. If there isn't any chance of running into any deadly wild predators I would stick with my normal carry 9mm. If I was camping out of state or in an area where bears or cats are an issue I carry a 357 mag.
I wouldn't feel comfortable with any...
