      Squirrel '09

I killed four this morning and my father in law killed two. My shooting was terrible. Three headshots and one shoulder that needed finished off. Even one of my headshots needed a second shot once it was on the ground, little feller was still breathing. They were cutting on hickory, it...

      Trip to Gander Mountain

I spoke to the manager here in Terre Haute a few weeks ago. He said if you can find a better deal in town or the surrounding community, they will match the price. I hate the place too, but if I can get the same thing at the same price, I'm ok with that.

      Gander Mountian gunsmithing?

I took a shotgun and my Kimber 84M to the GM here in Terre Haute two years ago for a front sight bead to be put on and the scope mount checked on the 84M. The guy drilled the hole too big for the shotgun bead. He then stripped my scope mount screw heads on the Kimber. They did however...

      lightfield choice

All his deer were shot through the lungs. The older slugs held together, the newer slugs, not so much.

      lightfield choice

My brother has used them in his Ultra Slug hunter since he bought it but is switching slugs this year. The slugs do not seem to be holding together as well as they used to. He shot a real heavy bodied deer four years ago and the slugs mushroomed perfectly. The slugs from the buck and doe he...

Anyone Heard When The Remington 887's Are Going To Start Showing Up???

I think the concept is valid, but man, did they have to make it so ugly? That seems to be the trend in shotguns these days. Nova, 887, and the Da Vinci are all quite unattractive (althought highly functional) shotguns.

      best semi auto shotgun

I saw a really nice Ithaca 51 at Randy's in Ft. Branch for $250 or $300. It looked like it was in good shape. I have not read much about the 51 though.

Picked up a new WWII rifle today! :) :) :)

That is a really nice carbine. Where in the Haute did you find such a piece? I obviously don't know where to look around here.

      m1 question

Are we talking M1 Garand or M1A? Glennster, that is a totally awesome castle nut wrench. Unfortunately I don't have the tools to make that bad boy. Can you make handguard pliers too?

      Fair Chase Hogs

Thanks for th links I would not have thought to check ebay for a hunting trip. We are not real picky on the type of hogs we go after. I want a big boar for my wall is about all I am concerned with.

      Fair Chase Hogs

Has anyone gone on a fair chase guided hog hunt that they can recommend? I don't want to shoot a pen raised or high fence hog. My taxidermist told me the best place would be Texas or Georgia for that.

      GP 100 VS. S&W mdl 19

If you want to shoot a lot of magnum rounds, then the Ruger for sure. The 19 was one of Bill Jordan's favorite handguns so you know it is good too. I was told that in a 19 you need to shoot one magnum for every six .38's to keep the forcing cone from wearing out. Not sure how true that is though.

      Lock'n'Load with Gunny

Was that at the Fall '05 Knob Creek shoot? That is where I saw him. I was more interested in standing by the line than in line to get his autograph. Did anyone see the size of his ring on Lock n Load? Intense.
