Question for the INGO computer guys

There's some pretty good info already in this thread, so I'll try not to repeat any of that. I will share some of my experience though. Realize that in IT there is something of a customer service aspect to everything. Even if you're a network jockey, you're going to have to deal with people...

      INGO: After midnight.

      I've seen it interpreted both ways. Where I work we're considered 3rd shift/graveyard. Tomato/tomahto I guess...

      I'm a third shifter, 11p-8a

      INGO: After midnight.

I'm off tonight, so it's been catch up on stuff around the house night. Just got the "office" cleaned up, and gonna get some gaming in here in a few minutes.

I work chat based tech support for a company named for a fruit. We're 24/7/365 worldwide, and nights definitely are less busy. On the 11p-8a shift it's much slower than days, and I'll never go back to phone support if I can help it. I get to sit here, in my office in my house, fix things all...

      INGO: After midnight.

If you consider tech support for folks around the world solving the worlds problems, then yes, that's what I'm doing.

It's 5 o clock somewhere. Right now, that happens to be in the middle of the Pacific ocean....

      INGO: After midnight.

That's why I love staying up on my nights off. I get a solid 8-10 hours of me time to do whatever I want.

      OTA TV Reception, antenna question

I'm in Franklin, so I'm about 30 miles from the transmitters in Indy and I pull things in fine with my antenna that I have in the attic. I get the major networks and PBS out of Bloomington, and I can't be happier. The only thing we do splurge on is season subscriptions for cable shows through...

If you work in as many time zones as I do, it's easy to make that mistake. These are all the time zones I keep track of now on a daily basis for work so I don't invariably say something stupid to a customer.

Yay, today is already looking to be busy like yesterday. Guess I go lulled into a false sense of how slow overnights could be.

One more hour and my "Monday" is over. Looking forward to trying to smoke me a beef roast on Saturday night...

      "THAT'S NOT MY JOB!"

I think you've worked at some of the places I have. If so, then I share your pain. This makes me glad I work from home now, and my "team" all pulls their weight.

      INGO: After midnight.

Ah, at least today is my "Friday". Tomorrow night is going to be an epic night as I'm going to try and knock out a full game of Civ V in one shot.

Recommend me a good charcoal grill?

Looks like Weber is the clear winner here, and they do look awful nice. And the price is much nicer than a Big Green Egg. Guess next paycheck I'll be hitting up Lowes.

Recommend me a good charcoal grill?

After years of doing propane, we're considering going to charcoal. Can anyone recommend a good, small and portable charcoal grill? It's just the three of us, and while we grill a lot we don't need some huge honking grill, and I'd like something I can put in the garage once we're done so it...

Is anyone else tired of Flo, Scot and the Sisters of Savings?

Must not listen to the radio if you haven't heard of the Sisters, or you listen to a lot of 700 WLW like I do.

Is anyone else tired of Flo, Scot and the Sisters of Savings?

The Sisters of Savings really grind my gears, as do any casino ads. I don't know what it is about a casino ad, but I immediately change the station if I hear one. But I'm mostly on my iPod, so it's not that big of a problem.

      Cute Pet Pic thread

Our two newest addtions, Naga and Iroh. Both are Azorean Cattle Dog/American Bulldog mixes. Smart as a whip and hyper to boot. Three out of 5 cats, doing what they do best. The two white and grey kittens are rescues that we got as brother and sister, and they fight like it too.
