      Glock 17 vs 22

      I ended up shooting almost always 9mm.... So I would go with the 17 so it will always work reliable. I have a G31 with a 9mm conversion barrel, and it always works. However, it does not eject the same as a 17, seems like less power. It would not be first choice for a defensive 9mm handgun...

      I would look into the slide lock. Weak operating springs have nothing to do when the slide locks open, unless it is not locking open as if on an emply mag. It sounds more like the slide lock is not disengaging properly for a loaded mag. I would try to disassemble and reassemble and try again...
