I bought a black nitride coated BCG once, lo and behold it has a laser etched 'Colt' marking - an obvious fake of dubious origin, coating, and composition. Gun show Folt, worth the price (125) to relearn:
buy genuine mil spec parts from a known good manufacturer. Hype. Phosphate is fine...
I hated mine. A bit more space and weight will afford you a featherweight smith jframe, imo. I wasn't a terrible shot with it, but not good either. It was an early model. I gave it about 400rds then let it go.
i think the belt line is a better place for a firearm, anyways.
Plain rear is where it is at. Who wants to look at three dots when you can simply have one. I wonder if Ken uses the Hackathorns as well - those are absolutely the best sights I've had on a glock.
Just slap that trigger like its dirty time. Now, what you really need.. some ameriglo hackathorns and a Vickers mag release. Done. I never messed with glock triggers - perfectly workable out the box.
My AAA streamlight absolutely sucked in the cold temps this past winter. The clicky would work about half the time.
Buy a used surefire 6P and put a warm tint malkoff drop in head, and get some AW rcr123 and a charger. Best tint you can get for 70$-ish. Single mode though... You never said...
Colt 6720, 6920 models are a great place to start, have the correct bcg and barrel configurations, and are like 900$ online. Screaming deals to be had right now.
I like the 6720. Very light and fast.
Why not a PSA blem? 50+xfer. Spikes can be had for less than 100. As long as they are cut in spec... Eh, should work. I'd go with all blem stuff if I was trying to save money, it isn't a pageant.
