      OK, I got the Tech-SIGHTS and the volquartsen exact edge extractor, I watched YouTube videos, but I can't figure out how to even get the darn thing apart. There is no barrel band, so I loosened the takedown screw (bolt closed, rear sight folded down), and pressed the safety halfway...and it...

      Besides the stock sights, I was struggling with the mag installation and release. That was really my main concern, and the problem I was trying to solve/solicit advice for.

      Well then, I should be able to get a rifleman's score next time, :): since I was able to manage a 145 with my first rifle right out of the box.

      Ok, so after asking about which rifle last December, I finally went. It was great. I know why I need the Tech-SIGHTS now and they are ordered, but with my Ruger 10/22 I was having trouble loading the magazine (it was sticking if it wasn't held at the exact angle) and quickly releasing it.       Funny, I haven't seen any evidence that gun owners nationwide are in favor of more laws against carrying guns.

      It happened OUTSIDE the show, it could have happened anywhere. Why would that mean the end of the Indy 1500? And, no I didn't find anything there to make it worth the price of admission either. Although the line moved very fast, so it wasn't really an issue for us. We were leaving the show...

      We've been panning in California, and I bought a gold panning set for my husband when we lived there. But then we moved back to Indy and he never got to use it. Even in CA, you won't find much without a sluice box. He also does metal detecting. But we'd be interested in checking out a group.

      We went to PSS last night and they only had one 10/22 in stock. So we bought it. Guess I have to let my husband wrap it up, and I'll act surprised Christmas morning. Or I could wait until my anti-gun mother comes over to open it. :dunno:

      Glock is the one that recommended tech sights. I guess I want a basic set up, but also something that will last for a while. That's why our first safe was a Johnson safe.

      Do the tech sights not work on the carbine model? I can't find that info. on their website. Kind of funny, I actually meant that I was giving my husband suggestions for a Christmas gift for me! He'll go to Appleseed, but I am the one trying to push him along.

      I sent it back to the manufacturer and had them work on it before I traded it in! I wouldn't sell someone a gun I knew wasn't working properly.
