I will have to respectfully disagree about Mini-14's not being known for reliability. The action is essentially an M1/M14 type and is very reliable. Any reliability issues with my Mini-14 have always been related to cheap aftermarket magazines that were poorly made. With decent magazines, reliability is great. I would agree that Mini's aren't know to be tack drivers. I would not trade the Sixes if I was going to trade anything. They are one sweet revolver (so is the GP-100, but they are still being made).
Unless it's an arsenal AK, just forget it. I normally recommend always trading a handgun for a rifle, but unless it's a decent rifle it's just more fodder to try to offload sooner or later.
