I wonder if we would launch anything with the current government we have. Possibly absorb the hits and not respond to save the earth and all that ignorant environmental garbage. Our leadership isn't the brightest stars in the sky.

People just don't worry about it. If it happens there isn't anything you or I can do about it. Just be ready to meet your creator.
"9 The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance. 10 But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and its works will be laid bare. 11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to conduct yourselves in holiness and godliness…" ~ II Peter 3:9-11
And the key point is in verse 11 with the question, 'What kind of people ought you to be?'
We cannot control what goes on in this world, this is very true, but the one thing we can control how we choose to conduct ourselves...and within whom we place our faith (trust) for receiving the guidance for navigating through this life or this world!
