Revenue and control. It is also an employment thing. How many heads are we paying to manipulate or hobby/passion in the name of safety.
Like some states requiring an 8 hour "training" session before they will permit the peasants to exercise a right. I've thought of moving back to KY when I'm sitting in the middle of the I-64 parking lot, but then I think of all the taxes and legislating "safety".
I'd like to see a study prove that 8-hour class makes new KY gun toters any safer than Indiana's. But it's created a whole new revenue stream for trainers.
Never happen. Govt need an enduring underclass to rule. Felon's don't have the opportunity to vote nor defend themselves. It's pretty shameful, and of course, it's always the poorest of Americans.
The main thing for me is reciprocity as well, but I don't think they will be able to "make" states like Kalifornia, NY, Mass., and others comply. They would fight this every step of the way.Now that Trump has won, basically ANY pro 2A legislation we want should be able to get passed EASILY. So what do you guys want?
First on my list is NATIONAL concealed carry reciprocity. This means that your carry permit/license works like a drivers license, good all through out the nation, and less like a gym membership (only good at select locations).
Any others?

Term limits on everyone elected.
This is the greatest bang for the buck solution to many of our problems current and future.
Healthcare cost, start reducing them. Stop talking about insurance, they are not the same thing.
NOTE: If you have health insurance and you or your employer are not paying for it, you don't have insurance, you are on welfare...
Dump the VA. Give veterans a card and allow them to get help anywhere they choose.
(Note gun related? I used the word bang.)
Or eliminate it completely. Unless you have a medical condition that is related to your service in the military, you should pay for your own healthcare.
I look at VA benefits as employer benefits. It's part of the compensation package. I'm okay with that.
Fair enough. My pop did 28 years, in the Army, and has his own insurance. He views it as a handout. Well, I guess it's moot point, we know it's never going away.

If they aren't doing something to make government less intrusive, they shouldn't be doing it. I'm not even all that keen on federally mandated carry reciprocity. Let the legislatures of the states fix themselves. Otherwise, you encroach more on the power of the states and give it to the Feds.
Why would you want Concealed Carry Reciprocity? States will fight and new restrictions and requirements to obtain a license would likely be implemented.
As for me, true Constitutional carry in all states and repeal the NFA, GCA of 1968, and disban the BATFE.
It made it safer for KY hunters. They saw a 1/3 reduction in fatal hunting accidents, IIRC.
I know it's very early, and doubtful that anyone has much detail... but national reciprocity seems like one of the more feasible things that might happen.
Has there been any talk from the NRA or people that might draft such a law on whether it would change what the current licenses allow?
All they say is "conceal carry reciprocity" over and over... and we should be sure that such a law wouldn't accidentally disallow open-carry.
Indiana's LTCH would still remain in it's current form, no reason it should change, right?
The Iron Curtain states are going to "fix themselves"? No. The only way for those states to stop violating basic, constitutionally protected, human rights is to force them to.
When the residents have had enough of their rights being violated, they will resist.
