After messing with both recurves today in the back yard, I might be setting up my 53# Hoyt Dorado with Tradtech limbs as my bowfisher.

It ought to put a whoopin' on big fish...........if my bud's got his boat issues figured out.

Can't get into the Cartel/Samick...........the Hoyt feels soooooo much better.

Went fishing in the creek back home last weekend, got my passengers butt wet, driving to the next spot (water alittle deep) Only caught a spotted bass and a smallmouth. But I took a young man who had never been fishing in a creek, he caught 10 bass, and he swears he will never fish anywhere else. So Ive added one more to the list of people who cant get enough of standing hip deep in clean cool water, in a valley, surrounded by trees, in the middle of nowhere. No better place to fish.

Left work early yesterday and went to Willow Slough for some Father's Day fishing. I mostly fed the fish, but you can't beat great weather on the water...

I've been fishing quite a bit lately. Well, if you count 30-45 minutes every other evening after work. My pond has been pretty productive, with grasshopper and ant hoppers being the most productive. The banks of the pond are pretty much covered in algae, with small pockets to cast to. I am catching fish and getting good casting practice in at the same time. My loops are really tightening up, and my accuracy is getting better. I've also been working on different types of casts that get the fly where I want it to go. I also saw some carp in the pond, which I have heard are an absolute blast on a fly rod, so I will try and target those when I see them feeding. Anyway, enough with the jibber-jabber, here are some pics of one of the better fish I have caught this week:

Wiping down the rod, reel and line is getting old. I need a boat so I can float down the White River...

Handy? Lets see, we floated for a couple hours, all I caught were Smallies. Took out, in the backyard of course, I stepped over to that dock and got a light bite on a bit of worm under my slip bobber.......bing bang two walleyes back to back! Handy, no, its better than that. But the bugs have now reached nightmare levels today. The Pike was my last cast this week. What sucks is no real pan fish to speak of in the river.

The Metro cart was from a chem lab for a clean room of a now defunct factory in Indy, 300+ Hi-tech good paying jobs killed by Tarp. I cut a hole in the top and dropped in my handy stainless sink and called my crash cart mobile kitchen. I need to add a quick disconnect hose connection and then a portable on demand hot water heater under it and a propane tank with distribution tree and small lantern on top of the tree and then I will consider it done. Well I want a top that fits it exactly cut from marine starboard then it is truly done but I love it. It smokes my aluminum fish cleaning shelf which I may just mount out by the river.

PS maybe I will host a special edition of FNS? We will call it Guns and Fishes.

we'll probably hit the water early in the morning, before it heats up.
we are 2 days into an 8 day forecast of rain and storms, I am thinking about suiting up and night fishing. I see my neighbor across the river on his land fishing again. I am convinced he is going for big cats. West of here they have caught some huge ones. Not really my thing but I have the gear to pull it off. I may dig out my shore spike and reflector just to see how many bugs can come to one lantern on the bank!

My brother got rained out of a show he was working at this weekend, so now he's free to FINALLY get a day off and go fishin.

Back before marriage and kids, we used to fish tournaments together. It's been quite a while since we've been able to hit the water together.

We'll be hitting West Boggs this evening. I can't wait!

Just got this year's license, some red worms, and a microlight open face real for my daughter who will be four next month. It took some convincing to get her away from the hello kitty reel, but now she has a set up just like her Papa (me), only smaller. So far, we've only been to a neighbor's pond a couple times. But once she gets the hang of it, I'll introduce her to my childhood favorite, Mississinewa :-)
