This is going to be the biggest auction in the Midwest of my lifetime (I'm older than nearly all of you.) There will be no such thing as a "deal" to be found. I made a living out of buying distressed inventories, including a lot of auctions, and I 100% assure you that the prices at this event will exceed retail. If you don't have a lot of money to take to this one, I strongly advise you to stay away. This auction is for major players only.

I saw Don on TV, what a jerk off, saying the auction was a waste of time (INHO), most guns listed in his mind were junk (and don't he wish he could buy them all cheap and Futt Buck anybody comming into his establishment to buy one).

So who was Gary? Was he just a collector gone wild or a gun addict? Did he want to open his own gun shop? What did he do for a living?
He did seem to especially like Johnson rifles but on the surface it looks to me like he just bought anything he came in contact with, or, was he a thief or a fence for stolen guns or what?
I looked over the whole auction list (that was posted) and only saw one firearm that I was curious about (but wouldn't buy or bid on).
But who was Gary? That's what I would like to know. Was he known to be irrational or a drunk or a drug addict or was he becoming ill? Maybe from a desease. I have read this whole thread so far and I still know little or nothing about the man or his wife, that's where the real story seems to be, at least for me.

It is funny to read some of you guys are afraid to go to this area of town where the auction is at lol :wow:... I been go to this part of town for 20 years to buy wood at Northwest for wood projects and never had a problem and it is right nest to the auction house... But yea this event will be full of dealers and collectors from all over the Midwest trying to out bid each other on all the good firearms. It will be interesting to see the auction if you can get in that is. I plan on going just to watch and you never know you might be ablle to get one of the items no one wants for a good deal. Why does the news have to always talk to the over price ripoff shop in town. I wonder if Dons is still selling High Points for 289.00?

He probably gets paid for his appearances on TV. He is probably also making a feeble attempt to keep the crowd down so he can try to get em cheap! He probably won't be there, but his Minions will be!

Well those 2 links didn't provide much information about the owner of the guns. Just some speculation about mental illness. Where did he work what did he do was he retired who were his friends where did the money come from. So many questions...

MAC, UZI, M16....yawn. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'd be thrilled to get one of those, but after all the hype I was expecting more exotic things.

He probably did have more exotic but maybe they were not registered correctly. I notice there are no suppressors. You almost always have suppressors with macs.

Hopefully there will be more to come. It's gonna be a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

I know for a fact there is a registered belt fed 50. Along with many many more class III items. They may add them before the sale, family may be getting them, or who knows. I will be finding out more this week

    Cool. Keep us updated 338sniper!

Would love to have seen the complete collection. He seemed to be ready for a SHTF situation. 50 belt feed, only in my dreams

The revolver in pic 313...the PDF says "unknown". Is that the same as the pair of revolvers used by Brendan Frasier in "The Mummy"? According to IMFDB, its a Chamelot-Delvigne Model. Handsome firearm.
