    "A real bad ass"
    "I bet it's a BB gun"
    "It doesn't look real"
"It probably doesn't have any bullets in it"

All the while snickering like little school girls.

That changed when I told them I heard all that.

LOL! I had a gas station attendant (with face tattoos) ask me if my glock 19 was an airsoft gun. I laughed and sarcastically said yeah. Of course, this was after I was told that I should consider that I could scare someone.

Yesterday, I OC'd to Boogie Burger in Broad Ripple, Brown's Flooring in Nora, and to the ACE Hardware in Nora. Also while helping a buddy move out of his apartment. Only comment I got was a random dude asking if I had a Glock. I think my Sig wanted to throw up a little; I know I did.

I unfortunately had to spend the last several days CCing. I traveled with the family to Southwest Missouri to attend a graduation. I CC'd not only to make sure I was compliant with whatever local laws the different municipalities in MO, but to keep the peace while around some of the family. I do like MO law that says that leaving a firearm in a vehicle isn't a crime on school property. Why can't we have that one too?

I wasn't able to OC until we returned to IN and were not traveling with the family any more Monday evening. I was able to then OC to Wal-Mart and Burger King (-1) in Columbus.

Yesterday I hybrid carried while riding my motorcycle around so I wasn't truly OCing. Today I OC'd to Hardee's and the Exit 76 Antique Mall in Taylorsville, and Wal-Mart in Greensburg.

I can say I'm glad to be back in a state that I don't have to hide my sidearm just to keep from causing conflict or breaking an unknown law.

As usual in Plymouth. Walmart, Lowe's, TSC, K-Mart (I hate K-Mart but had a return for someone else) and the bank by the airport (don't know the name). Per the norm, no one cared. Maybe it's the pony tail that puts them at ease. :D

Another "date night" with my wife, and a couple of errands yesterday. Culvers in Plainfield, then over to Metropolis to walk though Dick's, and then Old Navy. Pretty routine!

Went to wal-mart, and this happened.

I just had an old man come up to me and tell me "I'm for the second amendment, and I carry a gun, but I don't think you should be walking around pissing people off with that thing (My .45) on your hip!". I turned to 2 other customers and asked if my carrying a pistol bothered them. Both said no. I said "Looks like you're the only one that is pissed off, and you say you carry too." He said "I do" and pats his hip. I said "Get your hand off your gun, and deal with the fact that what I'm doing is just as legal as what you're doing.". He said "If someone came in here to rob the place you'd be the first one popped!". I said "You watch too many movies! Criminals are a lot more impulsive than you give them credit for." lol. He said "I was in the military!". I said "Most every man your age was. How many times were you deployed? Because I was twice not that it has anything to do with anything.". He kept reverting back to "I just don't think you should be walking around here pissing everyone off.". We went round and round for 5 minutes. I kept telling him that I guarantee that I educate more people on firearms than he ever will, because every day someone asks me about openly carrying, and I give them a few minutes of my time. I finally got tired of it, and said "This conversation is over.". He mumbled, and I said "Over!". He stomped off, glaring at me from afar, and I had a pleasant conversation with an older couple about ammunition as we waited for the salesperson to unlock the case, and get our ammo out. I kept my calm more than I normally do, but as I was walking out I could feel my adrenaline surging, because he was right in my face the whole time.

only bad encounter I've had so far.

( How many times were you deployed ? )

    What's that suppose to mean ? Was he a Korean War vet , Vietnam , WW2 ?

I guess maybe that helped him get a little fired up . Maybe he served 2yrs straight in Korea or WW2 and you offended his serving .

Great if you want to OC and he doesn't agree with you , but asking how many time's were you deployed kind of has no meaning in the discussion .

That's the point. He was never deployed. I told him I was in the Army too, and have been deployed twice, but that doesn't have anything to do with anything. He thought he would impress me that he'd been through basic. lol

I remember from basic that you should disengage those that pose no imminent, or immediate threat and carry on with the mission... which is what I did. lol Long tim no talk, Mr. Ortega :rockwoot:

The biggest threat in basic was the DIs and it was impossible to get away from them. (I still hope Sgt Murphy got mugged when he got back to Brooklyn:D ).

How's the Mrs.? I hope everything is progressing nicely.

Great for the Mrs. I'll tell Mrs. Ortega. Do you plan on OCing in the delivery room or are you going to wuss out?

I have open carried everywhere every day since I got my LTCH. But, I was already informed that I would be escorted out of the hospital if I did so again, so I suppose that I'll have to stick a derringer in my shoe. lol

Hope you and the wife are well.
