That Highway is a dandy! I had one years ago that I ran alot of hot reloads through and it never shot loose. It was my truck gun for years, it only had a 3.5 in barrel so I sold it for something I could hunt with, and should have stuck with another 28. I am still looking for a nice 27 or 28 in 4 in to replace it.
Did you order you Highway Patrolman with the 3.5" barrel, I don't recall the 3.5" being a standard catalog option?

My favorite revolver... love the aftermarket grips I found for it, kinda just by luck. Probably made in Taiwan or something... but they're very nice.

Can you tell me what type/brand of grips these are and where you got them from? I've been looking for somethng like this for my S & W.

The grip is a Hogue full size K or L frame Goncalo Alves Conversion Style Mono Grip. It is a one piece grip that slides over the frame and is held with a single screw, through the bottom. Here's the best part, the grip sells for $69.95 from Hogue.com....or you can go to HogueAuction.com and bid on "cosmetic seconds" which is where I bought my grip for $27.95. I think that's a bargain. Each grip up for auction has a photo showing the actual grip. Of course availability for specific models varies, there always seem to be 40-50 for K/L frames though.

That's a cap and ball pistol? Man, that is one handsome handgun. I'm sure it's not just your fine photo skills, but the finish and overall lines on that piece is wonderful. :yesway:

This thread is going to cost me money...I've always leaned towards semi-auto handguns. I'm obviously missing something by the looks of all the fine revolvers in this ongoing thread.

circa 1889. .45LC At some point the grip strap was renickeled. Lettered as nickel with ivory grips shipped to St. Louis. Gun had no grips when I got it. Those pictured are elephant ivory replacements from the 1950's.

Do you carry the meat tenderizer daily?

Probably not a bad idea. :):

I made that picture for posting on Corvette Forum. The members there have an unwritten rule that a picture of any gun has to include a kitchen utensil and calculator. The ribbing can be shameless without compliance. :):
