I was curious to get a feel for political demographics here on INGO. I am really only interested in the numbers so please leave the political discussions for a different thread......although, if you checked "other", I wouldn't mind hearing what that is.:D

LIBERTARIANS support maximum liberty in both personal and
economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government; one
that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence.
Libertarians tend to embrace individual responsibility, oppose
government bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, tolerate
diverse lifestyles, support the free market, and defend civil liberties.

I used to be a Republican however recently I'm finding myself in the Libertarian category. In fact if I could register as such I would. Neither parry of our two party system represents my values and beliefs, political or otherwise. I believe that at their core they have turned into progressive socialists bent on more government power and thus money for themselves.

Where I differ from the text book Libertarian is on military issues. I think in SOME but not all instances we need a military presence overseas.

That is all so far that I've found I differ with the party about though. I am very much a live and let live kind of guy.

It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if you had included "Tea Party" as a party.

It is NOT a political party... but the professional pollsters seem to think it is.

Had a Freudian moment - I meant to vote Republican, but without thinking checked Libertarian. I don't support the Libertarian party, but I'm 100% libertarian in my thinking, and about 98% aligned with the Libertarian party's viewpoints.

I'm a Republican out of pragmatism.

    Republican.

Used to be Libertarian, but they long ago tilted themselves away from reality and more toward an anarchist/leftist philosophy, IMHO.

I'm well aware this is a Libertarian site, and post my thoughts with some trepidation, as we've recently seen that Conservatives who post too much of their thoughts on this site will be banned.

near Bedford on a whole lot of land.
None of the political parties come close to my political beliefs. I more often not vote libertarian not because I support the libertarian platform but because they have no chance in h... of winning and it's the only way I can lodge a protest vote. In theory I most closely believe in the libertarian ideal, but I don't feel it's a workable political system, and I sure as heck think that most of the candidates are whacked out. It's not common that I can vote for someone I honestly feel will do a good job who comes close to my beliefs and I refuse to vote for the lesser of the weasels who actually stand a chance of winning.

When I saw the thread title, I was hoping I'd find Tea Party listed, but alas, it was not.

I reckon the Libertarian party comes closest to representing my ideals, but I don't foresee a candidate from that party winning in large elections, such as for POTUS or even Congress, in the near future. Consequently, I ended up voting for the Republican candidates in what was my first opportunity to vote in November 2008. I'm not registered with any party though; I try to research each candidate on the ticket and vote based on that, not on the party.
