My favorite revolver to shoot - Mt Colt Python 6" Stainless with pachmyers - my favorite revolver to drool over - the same gun with it's rosewood presentation grips.
I love all revolvers and have more of them in the safe than anything else.
Not a big fan of Rugers, strong but hard to get a good trigger job on.
S&W look good, easy to work on, great triggers.
Python is the most beautiful, nice trigger, expensive to buy and work on.
Taurus good gun for the money
I shot Revolver almost exclusively at steel matches and shot several uspsa matches with a revolver.
Smith and Wesson is the revolver for competition, easy to get a good trigger and full moon clips for some guns for fast reloads.
I also deer hunt with a S&W 8 3/8 629 classic DX shoots 4 inch groups at 100 yards.
As a side note I have a Python with a trigger job from in my opinion the best Python smith in the country and I was talking to a friend about my steel guns and he asked to see the Python and started talking about Pythons. He shot a Python in the Bianchi cup several years ago and done his own work on the action. I saw his gun and the trigger felt as good as the one I had done. So here in Indiana we have a gunsmith that works on the hard to tune Python and is in my opinion one of the best in the country. I don't know if he still would do a Python trigger job or not but it would be worth a shot to ask him if you wanted one.
By the way my Python double action pulls at 5.5 lbs and feels like it is on ball bearings. Rays felt just as good. Contact him if you need any Python work.

My favorite revolver is my 3" blued model 13. Also, thanks for the python gunsmith notice have a 4" that may be getting slightly out of time. I've worked on 1911's most autos and SW revolvers but don't want to touch a python.
