    I have both the Ruger 77/44 and the Puma/Rossi 44 lever action. The rossi has a much larger magazine obviously, but i also trust the ruger to require on one. The Ruger is far superior. I also really the like the "all-weather" stanless and synthetic build. A beautiful rifle.

    If you are willing to spend the $$, (about 600) I would go with the Ruger 77/44. They are sweet, light and hey its a ruger. I love the SST/SYN. However, if you have a smaller budget as I did for my Son in Law, get the Handi Rifle. We just paid 269 for one at Guns and Ordinance in Martinsville. They are a no frills tack driver. Ours came in Matt Blue/Syn and a scope mount.
