I would take lots of hooks and fishing line. Also, lots of needles and heavy thread. If they don't find you handsome, at least they'll find you handy.
I'd go out to Amish country with my life savings in cash. I'll be they've made some improvements since 1722, and none of it would require electricity to keep working. In a few years, my increased productivity would allow me to hire servants to work the land while I sit in the shade and sip a cool beverage.
I am a future guy, so I would rather go 300 years into the future. But if I did go 300 years into the past, I would definitely enjoy the peace and quiet of the time. The lack of light pollution would make for great star gazing.
