For me I would have to establish what my POU (purpose of use) would be. For an EDC, it would most likely be a G36 or PF9. For a go to war gun/ range gun, I would say a S&W M&P 45. For a fun gun it would have to be a Rossi Ranchhand.

Considering your question it depends how you are planning to use it. Home defense -45 acp - if your guns store carries Para Ordinance you may want to put one in your hand great piece for the price. I would consider the 380 if I were to carry. There are some nice ones out there.
