Yeah, he was sarcastic... but he got repped anyhow. :D
    Sarcastic...
    Me?!

How can you say such a thing?!
Are you not of the feminine persuasion?!
Do you not have an affinity towards the M1911A1's?!

Therefore Girls carry 1911's is a valid and true statement... :D:popcorn:

Now how about a Racy pic with the new Springfield.... ;)

You do realize that you are not really that much my elder right?! :dunno:
Doesn't matter by how much...the law still says you have to do what I say.
Now, stop picking your nose because it's just gross...and go pick up my brass.

Anyhow...what were y'all saying about how perfect the 1911 is? Continue... :)

Aww, I know I liked that pic, and I'm older than you, so don't tell me not to pick my nose. Anyway, I have the P12 (JetGirl won't let me call it a 1911) and I fire it with the wrong hand, but it doesn't hit me in the face. I never found the takedown to be too much, but I'm mechanically inclined, and I like doing stuff like that

    What's wrong with the 1911?

Um.... NOTHING as evidenced by the fact that 100 years later it is still in strong demand.

John Browning knew what he was doing.

I use one as a daily carry save for on those occasions where something smaller is required for concealment.

A 1911 also goes with me every time I'm in the woods.

    Outstanding pistol.

I just got a sig 1911 and really like how it feels (havent shot it yet :( ). If you are looking at the HK45, I would recommend the HK45c, same gun just the compact version (my cold weather carry gun) or the USP45. The HK45 is awesome, but again you get all the same features it has in the compact version, minus the 8 rnd mags instead of the 10. Just a heads up... But like everyone else says the only true disadvantage to 1911s is the disassembly, everything else is pretty much based on opinion.

I love my 1911s but they are not for everyone for sure. I grew up owning nothing but single action autos. Someday I will get a DA/SA or DAO, but I am really thinking my next 9mm will be a 1911 or a BHP. I had a very nice Star Model B, but parts for those are not readily available, so I traded it off. Kinda wish I hadnt but now there is a vacancy in the gun safe. Nature abhors a vaccuum...

please understand that not all mill spec 1911s are made in the USA, in fact the springfields are brazillian. consider a custom or a colt, but you will pay for that concideration!

Nothing is wrong with the 1911 but it is 100 year old technology.there are better guns out there.

which must be why the 1911 is actually making a comeback in some military and LE circles, such as the FBI and USMC.

There are positives and negatives with every platform.
