This will wipe storage devices won't they? Might not want to get it too close to your cell phone if I've been told correctly.

Most storage devices are solid state, ie: flash drives, SD cards, etc. These, by and large, aren't pervious to magnetic fields. Phones on the other hand have other gizmos that can be effected by magnetic fields.
