Can anyone tell me what happened here? I'm pretty sure it's a Negligent Discharge on her part.

What happened there is exactly what is supposed to happen when the finger pulls the trigger.

The handgun appears to be in fine working order - not so sure about the operator.

I'm guessing that after they got her back to the station and let her change her pants, she was probably heavily disciplined if not more.

The individual who was on the ground is probably also enjoying a nice settlement check as well.

I'm guessing there had to be some sort of injury from debris and shrapnel.

A clear violation of Rule Three:

"Keep you finger off the trigger until the sights are aligned on target."

I can imagine the discussion at the station:

"Don't worry about that underwear. After you turn in your uniforms, and are summarily terminated, you won't have to worry about replacing the underwear now. You should have plenty at home."

Lol, I loved her reaction. She's probably still shaking. Honestly though, this is the type of thing that assures that no one on that force will ever have the same accident again. Despite her being an idiot at that moment, she learned her lesson. I wonder if she'll keep her job, and if she does, I don't think anyone would be any less safe.
