What is a must have for carry other than your firearm?

My thoghts to this question whent slightly differently than some of the others (except Lars who touched on it).

    My first reaction was:

    -- Proper belt
    -- Good holster
    -- Proper clothing selection

Before adding lots of other hardware, it important that these fundamentals are addressed. The belt/holster combination will make the difference of whether you will consistently carry your firearm and getting frustrated. Save up your money and get a belt designed for firearms. Off-the-rack belts in department stores lack the strength and stability to distribute the weight of the firearm properly. (Just because a belt is wide, doesn't make it a gun belt.) Likewise, a good holster, inside or outside the waistband will spread out the load and keep the firearm firmly in place.

Having the right size and type of clothing for your preferred method of carry will make the complete system work much better for you.

This was discussed in a previous thread IBTL

As have most other gun topics here LOL. But, since I like talking about guns, and showing mine off, here's my EDC. Accompanied by at least two speed loaders, a pocket knife, cellphone, keys, wallet, and nowadays some candy in case I feel like my sugar is a little low. As I lose weight and get plenty of exercise at work, gotta keep my diet controlled diabetes in check, and "high" is never an issue :)

I do not have a picture but. For now an Xd .40 service model, loaded with 180 grain Magtech JHP's. One in the pipe, and twelve in the mag. Depending on where I'm going an extra mag. When I get my holsters, I will start carrying my FNP9. I carry a S&W Homeland Security 3.5" folding knife. I also have a Browning 3 1/4" fixed blade, with nylon sheath. When the sun goes down, I carry a an ITP SA1 Eluma tac. lite. Low setting: 40 lumen's, medium setting: 80 lumen's, high setting: 120 lumen's, and a 120 Hz strobe. Came with a pouch, but usualy just clip it in my pocket. Of course my keys, wallet "always make sure I have my LTCH", and my Rumor 2 celly.
