.45 in a full size 1911. I have other pistols in other calibers but nothing feels as good on the belt as my 1911. :D
I have been seriously considering a snubby wheel gun as a BUG a lot lately, just haven't decided what I want yet.

    .45 XDM 3.8" Compact 95% / 9mm CM9 5%
I shoot the XDM SO much better but the CM9 conceals well on hot days and is more comfortable on long road trips.

Doesn't get much more 'basic' than a 3-5-7 in my opinion. When I have a revolver on me, that's what it spits out. Otherwise, I voted for fotay.

.40 or .45 if not worried about concealment. Snub .357 or Kahr 9mm if I need to be worried about concealment .

    9mm or .45ACP

    Also .357/38 as backup.

Not a fan of other calibers in a semi-auto handgun except for .22

not dissing them, just don't like them. If I can't resolve the problem with a 9mm or .45 I probably should have brought a rifle to the fight.

I have at least 4 other calibers in handguns other than 9 or 45 but they are safe queens.

.380 pocket carry in summer. .45 or 9mm under jacket or IWB in fall/winter/spring. I carry a .22 around my own property (never know when I might feel the urge to plink - great benefit of living in the country)
