I have my 1911 on me day to day, so probably that. I keep my AR SBR loaded with Hornady TAP at my bedside as well. It has both a light, and night sights to augment my primary EoTech. It is also built with an Arms Tech Compak 16 upper that I used in Iraq... so it has already been a SHTF gun. If the S really HTF, I have a chest rig to go mobile with the AR. (not that I'm all that mobile these days)

Ruger 10/22 takedown, Ruger 10/22 folding stock, Browning Buckmarks. Scoped and threaded for suppressors.

    Mossberg 590a1, 500a. M&P 9mm.

Bulk 22LR stashed in paintball pods in backpacks. Each pod holds around 600 rounds.

    .223 vs. .22 LR?
Looking for opinions/thoughts. I carry a Glock .40 (27) - have 2 ohters (23's) (1,000 rds - half HP), also have Rem 870 w/ extended tube (roughly 500 rds of #00, 250 rds of #4 buck), 2 AK 47's (shoot great - 2,000 rds of ammo). I'm debating whether or not to add another gun - .223 (mini 14 or AR) or .22 LR (Ruger 10/22 or S&W 15-22). The reaon for the thought is hunting small/medium game in SHTF scenario. Do I need it or not - what would you add (replace/trade)?
Like I said - looking for opinions and thoughts.
    Thanks!

I have a Glock 30 (.45), Glock 19 9mm, AR, Remington 870, and a few .22 rifles. Other guns besides those, but those are the go-to's. I have 5 kids though too, and all know how to handle them, some better than others, but we go to the range often (increasingly).

If SHTF happens when I'm at (1) work, Glock 19 to get home. If it is a (2) natural disaster SHTF, Glock 19. (3) EMP or other attack, Glock 19 on foot, AR, Glock, 10/22 if I am moving my family one way to my bug out location.
    Subject to change.

For me, I don't see the use in a mini-14, if you have an AR. Same ammo, but incompatible magazines. Of the two, I'd get a second AR for a different distance (eg, one with iron sights or red dot, light weight for defense, and one with a scope and bipod, or something like that for hunting).

PS. I have an M1A, but in a real SHTF, I have a hard time imagining a situation that i would lug it and the ammo around. If anything, it would be for defense of my property.

I already live at my (very good) bug-out location so everything I have in the safe. If I do have to leave:

    In order -
Remington 597's with suppressors and LOTS of ammo!
    Glock 41
300 Blk pistol, suppressed, that will become an SBR real quick.

If I have help to carry stuff or transportation I'd add the 300 Blk carbine, the Garand and Mossberg 930 SPX also.

I am of two minds when considering this questions. Assuming I could only grab one pistol and one handgun, I would grab either my M9 and CX4 Storm, allowing me to leverage the same magazines or, I would grab my CZ75 and SKS. Either way, it's kind of fun to plan all this out.

Myself SR-15 mod1 , M11-A1 , xds 9 as backup. Wife LMT MRP , P229 E2 , xds 9 as backup. Kids carry their backpacks with mags and ammo. Over the last 2 years I have changed everything out to where the wife and I carry the same ammo and mags. Everything interchanges except certain parts of my KAC rifle. I am currently moving my parents over to where they will also carry the same mags and ammo as we do. Been considering dropping a lmt 308 into the mix also.

I would choose my AK. they can take just about any dirt, grim, or weather you can put it through, and refuse to clean it. As long as you have ammo to feed it, it will keep on doing it's job. Great for defense. O.K. for hunting. For a side arm? Tough choice between 9MM or .22 Cal.
