Did you do good on buying/selling/trading? New EDC this year? How is your collection now as opposed to this time last year? What have you learned?

Well I opened the gun store this year, so my collection is ever changing ;). I did change my EDC to a Glock 29 and a Sig Scorpion.

This year was decent for me. Hope 2014 will be better. I had a Remington 700 ADL (.308, mfd. 1994, never fired) that a buddy of mine wanted. I liked his Remington 1187, so we did a trade with cash on his end. I also purchased a 1974 Colt Commander for $700 (now my EDC).
    For 2014, I'm thinking another quality 1911, maybe a Mustang .380 BUG & maybe a surplus M1 in .30-06....

Good and bad. I sold my business in March so used some of the proceeds to beef up my collection getting the RIA 10mm 1911 and the XDs. But I no longer have an overall monthly shooting budget so I pretty much have any new gun purchase on hold except the 300BLK Mossberg I budgeted for in JANUARY. For my 44th birthday I got an H&R Handi Rifle in 44mag so I of course needed to get a Taurus model 44. Then the recall for the XDs happened. Then I got it back :-) And I got a LWD 9"bbl for my Glock 20.

So overall, a typical year in spite of not having much income.

Sounds like a good year to me.

The gun collection thrived this year... but my wallet cried a bit. I'm at the point now that I'm wondering if I need that many pistols. (I'm a rifle type of guy, so I'd never say that about rifles...)

    Acquisitions:

    CZ Rami
    CZ SP-01
    Taurus PT1911
    Ruger SR1911
    XDs .45acp
    Savage Model 64
    Savage TR-SR
    Mega Arms Maten lower

Got a .357 LCR to carry. Already looking at something bigger (like a 686) for a "nightstand gun". :) They're like potato chips (and dogs, in my case). Can't have just one.

    No, no you can't.

Although I have to say that right now the only new ones I really want are some out of production 10mms to round out my collection, and a better quality .44mag. But off the top of my head, if I had the money I could easily justify buying at least ten different handguns I would like to have currently.

And that wouldn't even come close to doubling my collection ;-)

Any year I can get a gun on my budget is a good year. Got an M&P9 full size this year, so I was pumped about that.

Hopefully good. My grandpa said he is giving me a Shield 9mm for Christmas, so I'm anxiously waiting for that. I got rid of my Kel-Tec P11 and the Shield is going to replace that as soon as I get my grubby little paws on it. Other than that my grandpa also gave me a snubby .22 revolver from his personal collection for the wife, but the wife is still skiddish around guns, so it is sitting in the safe.
