Not surprising how quickly Venezuela dropped out of the news. The only way the people win, is if the "man with the gun" takes the people's side.

So long as Maduro has the support of the military and police, the people are simply proles to be exploited.

Everybody understands the lesson here, right?

At a high level, I really don't give two craps about Venezuela, it's President, it's elections, it's Colorado apartment building co-opting or its recently ubiquitous food trucks that are likely salients for the previously mentioned gang activity.

But, why in the wild wild west do *we* have to go into other countries and steal the guy's airplane? Again, **** him and the horse he rode in on, but can we just let other people live their dung-y lives in their dung-hole countries and focus on our own domestic problems?

El Salvadorans managed to take back their country. It can be done but it rarely happens until people are going hungry.

    1. Guess who is getting their plane back loaded with cash?

    2. Why was a U.S. service member in Venezuela to begin with?

    3. Unless "we" sent them there, any civilians in Venezuela, China, North Korea, Iran, Turkey or Russia who get detained should be responsible for getting themselves undetained. Being unable to comprehend that there are dangerous places on this planet that you are not welcome is not the fault of the United States taxpayer.

I would venture to guess the Democraps in the US are looking at the Venezuelan elections as a case study for tactics to use in the US against Trump!
    Democraps are afterall pond$***! :dunno:

The answer to question one is we need to stop paying our enemies. Exhibit A is Iran.

As far as questions, two and three, unless it is duty at the embassy, I see absolutely no reason why any American should be there.

There are Military at embassies other than the Marines providing security. DoD liaison and the like. USAF lost a SMSgt at the embassy in Kenya back in the 90s when Al Qaeda bombed two in the same day.

If there wasn’t a noncombatant evacuation order (NEO) or whatever the state department equivalent to that is done ages ago… That would be criminally insane. Oh wait, look who’s running things.

If I was stationed there? I’d only leave the embassy to go to the airport and I wouldn’t be alone.
