If you kick out 45 points in penalties on a 60 point stage you sure do KICK your own A$$. Stupid mistakes always bite you,so what do you do? Put it behind you and finish the match on a strong note.

I had a great time even though it rained all day. I liked all the stages and the high round count was great. My finish was great but I need to get some consistency in my game, I can win a stage second on a few then about dead last.

Everytime we get beat, it seems to me, it's always about beating ourselves.

I think the object is to make less stupid mistakes than the next guy.:yesway:

APPARENTLY . . . (and I could be wrong) . . . taking 35 seconds or so to thread single stack magazines into a quad pouch does not enhance one's hit factor.

Cost you the division win. Take solace in the fact your shooting was better than everyone else but the non shooting things not so much. :dunno:

Try knocking one off onto the ground after a brilliantly devised plan :xmad: then missing one target not once but twice:xmad:

Hah! I'll trade you the time you lost for the time I lost.

    Makes sense.

The good thing is, I made plans and I did a reasonable job of executing them. Another good thing is that I've been having some concerns about my marksmanship, but it was pretty good on Sunday.

    I HATE those stages:)

    Me too!

I was just drinking beer thinking about Rhino's situation in that stage with the mags on the table. I should have thought of this for him. He should have shot everything from the table but the 4-5 targets he could not see, and just reload off the table for everything. Would have been the thing to do with this stage and he can hit distance targets better than reload mag pouches.

Nice job. In SS that is probably the right way to go when facing a goofy stage like that.:ingo::patriot:

I didn't think of that until I saw a couple of the others load their second mag from there. It was a learning experience. In USPSA matches, I suppose you have to be able to adapt and overcome even if the course of fire has non-shooting challenges.

I'm still not embracing worrying over my scores as much as I probably should, but I've been reminded that going first is not always the best choice on stage with unfamiliar non-shooting tasks required.

I guess we will have to have that kind of start more often. Since everybody had such a hard time we must need to practice it!

I was joking on Sunday that we could take that concept even further. Why not a stage with your shiny new Dillon set up at the start. Load the rounds, then shoot.

I was at an outlaw match years ago where the MD decided he wanted everyone to start with their pistol field stripped.
    Reassemble, load, then start COF.

We all told him to pound sand and started to leave. He changed his mind.

What some folks don't get, is that for SS and production, god forbid revolver, it's not like Limited where you put a mag in the gun, another on your belt and you are on your way.

I'll play the game but I think these type of starts have little to do with shooting. Practical? I don't think so.

Putting mags into holders at speed, IMO, is a total waste of time and effort.

I don't apperciate starting with the gun unloaded, this causes a real problem for SS shooters and Pro. I know peolpe who have children in their homes leave guns unloaded. This should be in self defense training only, not at USPSA matches.
