Describes my thoughts exactly. As we got closer to the election I was confident our road to socialism would halt. Now, still in shock from the results I ask; what am I missing that over half of the country sees? Nothing we see in the next four years will surprise me. Seems a solution would be red state secession.

That Romney claimed he was a progressive. Let's be honest with ourselves. What SOLID positions does Romney hold that differ from Obama's? Of the positions that differ, what actually have anything to do with the powers of the executive branch?

The President is a negotiator and cheerleader for budget/tax/social programs/etc and his pen ONLY approves or vetoes. The real work is done in Congress and the make up of Congress hardly changed. More gridlock and grandstanding.

2014 matters far more than 2012.

When Romney announced, I thought, no way would I vote for him. Several month later I did. Why? To get Obama out. Sure, many on this forum say there are little differences in them. I won't get into that. However one thing with a Romney win is that all the political appointments in the Obama administration would go bye bye. Like the head of EPA. Being a businessman Romney would surely take an axe to the federal regulations that choke business (and us). IMO we'd be a whole lot better off with Romney than Obama. Now we'll see what all of our positions are in four years. That's if Obama doesn't take down INGO before then.

    To All,

I agree with the post title after inserting "potential" before destruction.

I also really liked this simple commercial that says it well:

Seen this commercial last weekend... its brilliant.

"Conspiracists" have been saying these things for years... now that Romney didn't win, all of a sudden we seem less crazy :):

That commercial is really good but I don't see how that group can stay funded. Citizens Against Government Waste and people continually keep voting for more government waste...who is funding that group because it seems the general population isn't against much past politicians wanting to get back to the Constitution.

I'm not sure what Romney would have to do with any of that. It isn't like he has been preaching about run away government spending (or anything else at all really) for the last 30 years. I'd have agreed if you'd mentioned Ron Paul as he has seen this coming. If the conspiracy guys keep backing status quo, they will continue to seem crazy.

I don't think ANYONE on this forum thinks that Romney is as bad as Obama... I just think the "truthers", "conspiracists" or whatever you like to call us recognize our country to be in a much worse off state than meets the eye...

Most of "us" didn't think Romney was as bad as Obama... but all of us believe that he didn't really represent REAL change.

For me personally... this country is doomed because 99.9% of Americans live in a fantasy land and have no clue on just how fragile all we have come to know and love really is! Voting in Romney wouldn't have halted socialism... it might have slowed it down a little, but there is VERY LITTLE hope to stop this train wreck.

It might not happen today, this year or in 10 years... but it seems inevitable that America is going to pay for all its done. The rest of the world is pissed off and its not because of American religion.... its because of the shady way we went about rising to global economic dominance.

With demographic shifts, it does seem that we are on the path to European-style socialism. The joke is, when the Administration gets more revenue through tax hikes, you know they will just find new ways to spend it, and the deficit will continue to balloon.

I may have missed something... I'm speaking about Romney voters thinking he was going to be the answer and "we conspiracists" (whomever falls in that category) were crazy for not believing Obamney were going to change anything.

Ron Paul supporters have been preaching that our country is in serious trouble... while Romney supporters think we are one election away from Eutopia. Now that Romney has lost, all of a sudden all the Romney supporters are running around playing Chicken Little.

Its a nice role reversal... but still saddening none the less.

It didn't have to be Romney for them to be running around like that. It could have been Newt, Pokemon Master, Frothy, or one of the other jokes they tried to field. Blind supporters will ALWAYS puke up conspiracies. Doesn't matter the party.

Ya'll are beating a dead horse. It doesn't matter who we get in office. We're in real trouble as a nation and most folks don't see it or don't want to be bothered with the details.
I guess really if the majority get their wish and our fedgov is allowed to continue down the path to socialism then our country as it was founded is no more.
Just like the video said, we've traveled too far away from the beliefs that made us strong to begin with.

Ron Paul was like a bad word with the medea. I don't agree with everything he says, but I don't have to, that is the neat thing about freedom.
