no worries. it was civil I have just seen members get banned before because something was taken out of context then it turns into "your momma..." insults and people get sent on vacation or banned. just didn't want to see a civil debate turn mean.

True, that! Although your moms jokes are always welcome in my visit messages hahaha

My wife and I have been texting/emailing since it started... latest news from her is that she has been herded into a shooting gallery.

She's really pissed. AFAIK no one forced her to stay in the building, but she has a class later and needs to stay on campus, so her choices are limited... The doors are all locked according to her, so she would have to leave campus if she left. She can't enter any other building.

When it first started she called me and we found a strategic place for her to be... when the police came to sweep the building she was in she was not allowed to stay there.

My brother is on campus too. Sounds to me like a false alarm. He says campus is swarming with cops and they've been there for over 2 hours. Still haven't found the guy. My guess is somebody thought they saw a gun and flipped out.

"Citizen, your logic is not good enough. Let me show you a better place [STRIKE]for us to keep track of you[/STRIKE] to hide."

    paraphrasing...

Her: Well they've locked all the doors so no one can get in unless let in from the inside.I'm in a corner with 2 concrete walls and three exits. Opening to a window 12 ft away so I can see out a little. Just going to sit here and do homeowrk.

Me: Keep me posted. what shoes are you wearing.

Her; the ones you got me for Christmas.

Me: Locked all the doors, thats funny. They're all made from glass.

Her: the irony of that was not news to me either. sad, right? an illusion of safety and these people are trained to say "yes, master. whatever it takes to make me safe, master"

Her: You won't believe what I just posted on FB.

    Me: you didn't.

Her: Too late now. Dont care anyway. Doing homework listening to people worried to death, not even talking about the real issue here.. when danger comes we're supposed to seek shelter and be fish in a barrel.

Her: now cops at Cavanaugh, everyone in campus center (where she is) is nervous. Two reports say stay away from campus center, because, anyone? It's not safe becuase of all the windows. Geez.

Her: Lots of cops at Cavanaugh. Don't know what's happening. No updates whatsoever.

Me: They have to check all the rooms.

Her: Well now I've been escorted to the big room. Now I'm pretty ticked. It's getting worse not better. Helicopters now.

Me: anyone there to guard you, if not I'd be pissed.

Her: Dean just said shelter in place, building being checked and cleared one at a time. So this building is the worst to check so they're doing us later than some others. But no, no one here with anything more that a walkie talkie. I can leave but I can't get into any building. Should I leave? I may still have a 6pm class. My prof is a jerk that way.

Lets get one thing straight. It is not Illegal to carry on campus per State statue. Now, they can fire any staff or expel any student for violating their policy of no guns on campus. So, legally, he did nothing wrong.
